Deer Run
6153 yards; par 71 (6 par 3’s; 7 par 4’s; 6 par 5’s)

“Picturesque, challenging courses with wonderful scenery and a warm welcome”.

John Cook (PGA International Coach)

Our latest 9 hole course can be extended to 18 by playing from new tee positions. This is a golf course to test even low handicap players.

The Deer Run was designed by International golf course architect Bob Sandow to give a challenging links type course, with large full U.S.G.A. spec greens and sand tees, giving excellent drainage, playing surfaces and holding greens.

The greens are built to the same specification as the 2010 Ryder Cup course – Celtic Manor and ooze quality all year round.
A comprehensive, computerised automatic watering system keeps the greens, tees and approaches in first class condition.

An unforgettable feature of the course is the clever use of sandstone boulders quarried from the site. These have been used to make mini canyons, pyramids and waterfalls to give the course that wow factor, along with the marvellous views over the Herefordshire countryside.
The centre also has a purpose built buggy track with electric buggies for hire.

3rd Hole

“Deer Run Signature” has all the classic features of a World class golf hole. From tee to green you have an exciting feast of spectacular views, a sweeping vista of lush fairway to tempt you to “open your shoulders” and then a scene of artistic pleasure provided by a large indigenous rock lined pond fronting a 700 sq. metre green of subtle contours to test your skills.
A moment to enjoy the views and then onwards.

8th Hole

How pleased you will be to have your 14 clubs. This 490 yd shortish par 5 gives you rare choices from tee to green and only on your second time round will you really appreciate what they are. The fairway is split at 225 yards by a shallow gully filled with wild flora, followed by 50 yards of semi rough, bordered on one side by a water hazard at 270 yards and a ravine and water hazard on the other side. A lush fairway on this double dog-leg hole opens up to receive your second shot which will be placed ready for a high pitch third shot over a flowing stream to a 600 sq. metre green complimented by a large lake and waterfall and views all round.

Good Luck!
